Speed up work in Stackfield

Browse and edit / create new element

For a large number of elements, you may no longer know whether an entry has already been created for a certain topic. You can therefore search for a term in a room using the "module search" (except in the communication module).

If you see multiple results, you can select and edit the relevant element.

If no item exists yet, a new element will be created automatically (by entering the desired term in the search field).

This procedure prevents duplicate items for the same aspect, the relevant information is only collected in one place.

Shortcuts

Multiple selection of the elements in a module

If multiple items in a module (discussions / tasks / files) are selected, changes (such as delete, archive, status, due by, assigned, download and labels) can be made at once.

How to download multiple files is described in detail here.

Map view of tasks:

For tasks, this is only possible in the map view per list. To select the desired tasks, the "Control" or "Shift" key must be held down when clicking several tasks. A right-click opens a window with several options. The change affects all tasks marked in light blue.

Select multiple tasks
Select individual tasks (in a column)

Multiple consecutive tasks can be marked with two clicks. To do this, the first and last task must be clicked while holding the "Shift" key. All intermediate contributions are then also included.

Global search

Ctrl + "k" (Windows) / "cmd" + "k" (macOS) / "ctrl" + "k" (macOS) to open the global search. This can be used to search for content, rooms and room templates.

New Line

"Shift" + Enter starts a new line in the text input field, without sending the content immediately.

Processing of already sent messages

With the "up arrow" key of your keyboard you can "retrieve" and edit sent messages / comments immediately. This allows you to quickly correct missing or incorrect information as well as typos before they end up with other users.

Mark / copy / paste content

  • Mark: Complete by "Ctrl" + "a" (Windows) / "cmd" + "a" (macOS) / "ctrl" + "a" (macOS) or certain passages by "Shift" + "left / right arrow" of your keyboard
  • Copy: "Ctrl" + "c" (Windows) / "Fn" + "cmd" + "c" (macOS) / "Fn" + "ctrl" + "c" (macOS)
  • Insert: "Ctrl" + "v" (Windows) / "Fn" + "cmd" + "v" (macOS) / "Fn" + "ctrl" + "v" (macOS)

Reload stackfield

If you want to reload Stackfield this can be done with the key combination "Ctrl" + "r" (Windows) / "cmd" + "r" (macOS) / "ctrl" + "r" (macOS) possible.

Display messages / comments formatted

To get a quick overview of information it helps if messages are formatted. Texts can be bold, italic, important or displayed as an ordered / unordered list. How this works is explained to you here.
