Everything at one place

2 min read  •  October 01, 2015
With an increasing number of rooms, tasks, files and messages, new problems arise: Organizing your team becomes more complex and the amount of data starts to be overwhelming. Therefore, we are introducing a new feature, which simplifies the use of all tasks, files and further elements on Stackfield: Everything.

Which features does „Everything“ provide?

This feature summarizes all elements from all rooms and displays them clearly by providing different filters. Hereby, you don’t have to open each room in order to see or search your tasks, files or notes. At the same time, the „Everything“ feature now represents the foundation of the dashboard. By selecting a menu item in the dashboard, you will be forwarded to „Everything“ with the right parameters of the filter activated.

How do I use the filter?

At the first use of „Everything“, all open tasks are displayed. By clicking on „Edit View“ in the search bar, the editing options of the filter are displayed. In this menu you can choose between different parameters, which enable a custom presentation of the results. The basic options of the filter are directly visible, while the advanced features can be displayed by clicking on „More Option“.

Use Cases

1. Displaying open tasks of multiple rooms

Working on a project often involves more than a single data room in order to have a dedicated work area for each team. Hereby tasks are distributed across different rooms, which is quite reasonable, but so far it brought the disadvantage that you couldn’t display all tasks of a project at a glance. The new feature „Everything“ eliminates this disadvantage and provides a clear overview for multiple rooms. Simply choose the needed rooms in the filter and all tasks of the rooms are displayed.

2. Displaying the workload of a team member

Team leaders are always in need to know how much workload the team has and how the goals can be achieved. The question, how busy a member of the team is, therefore is an essential point. Using the „Everything“ feature helps to easily answer this question. In order to display the tasks of a specific team member, use the following parameters for the filter: Select the type „Tasks“ and the team member at „Assigned to“. Choose „Cards“ as display mode and „Due“ for the Group by parameter. These filter settings will display all open tasks of the selected team member as cards. Hereby you can edit the tasks and move them easily if the workload of the person is too high.
